I’ve had two operations in my life and after both of them woke up feeling extremely disorientated. After my first operation, the nurse told me I kept waking up, laughing hysterically, then falling back to sleep. It goes without saying that the doctors had pumped me full of drugs (not of the recreational variety), which was of course to blame for my state of mind.Waking up in a hospital bed can be a scary experience though, especially when you have absolutely no idea how you got there in the first place. Personally, I think memory loss and amnesia are some of the most daunting conditions around. Anyway, people on Reddit have been sharing stories about waking up in hospital, and they make for interesting reading.
